During the CityLight Sports basketball season, I’ve been helping to get the church changed from a basketball court to a place folks come to worship the Lord. This last Saturday was the last time since the season is now over. I actually don’t know what I’m going to do with all that free time I will have Saturday afternoon (suggestions welcome).

Caleb and I got to hang out for a little bit after and this was just a great pic of him. He’s a busy dude and this captures that 🙌🏼

New Years in Detroit

I went to Detroit with Jill to spend New Years with The Sideris fam.

A quick recap:

We went to The Aspen Lounge (this is what we called the outside tent we went to, because it looked and felt like a comfy ski lounge). IMG_20171230_155914.jpg

For actual New Years we went to Wright & Company for dinner and then to The Skip for some drinks and then to The Whiskey Parlor to finish off the night. IMG_20171231_222854.jpg

Eva and Bro Bro were killing it with the cuteness. 00000PORTRAIT_00000_BURST20171229144401745.jpg00100dPORTRAIT_00100_BURST20171231093416117_COVER.jpg

I got a couple (New Order Coffee, Great Lakes Coffee x2 and The Bottom Line Coffee) coffee stops in with Nick.

It was a quick trip, but in a good way, it didn’t seem too fast. I was also excited that on the way there and on the way back it was worth having our TSA PreCheck. I think I overheard at the Detroit airport the normal line was a 45 minute one, but the TSA PreCheck we were through in under 5 minutes. For a while, it seemed that both lanes were the same speed, so it was nice to finally feel like it was worth getting it.

Also, for those in the know. Do you call it New Years 2018 since we were headed into 2018 or New Years 2017, because it’s technically 2017? I would say 2018. Someone help me out here.

FOR (R) Dinner Club

About a week ago… two weeks at the most… some friends of mine from all my various circle of friendships got together for a little FOR (Friends of Ryan) Dinner club! We had Kara (who I originally met at work), we had Jill (who was in my very first bible study many moons ago!) and we had Andrew (who I originally met on twitter and is now my bible study leader and my brocation travel friend).

We decided to meet up at Draught House 50 and the food did not disappoint (I made everyone send me what they ate and drank so i could include it on here, but… i lost those text… whoops!)

We had a gr8 dinner and we learned so much, but most importantly that Kara is a HUGE fan of manatees. IMG_20160323_211629.jpg

Road trip to Detroit

I had a great time in Detroit seeing my friend Nick. The trip down there was a ten hour car ride, which I’m not really a fan of. Thankfully, it didn’t seem to last that long. The Sideris just bought a new (to them) house in the neighborhood that Henry Ford lived in. It is awesome on the inside, everything you’d want in an old house I suppose. We went to a few different places, but my favorite was just getting coffee and talking with Andrew and Nick.
